Acer platanoidies 'Crimson Sentry'

'Crimson Sentry' is a narrow growing type of Norwegian Maple keeping a compact, conical shape. It has a classic large Maple leaf that is a shiny deep purple colour throughout spring and summer which turns to a copper hue in autumn giving great colour to the garden most of the year.
Unlike Japanese Maples, the 'Crimson Sentry' will take an exposed site providing it's well mulched and receives summer water.
Some protection is preferable but we have seen them perform well here through some very hot days with big winds.
'Crimson Sentry' can be used as an individual specimen tree or is great for fence lines, avenues or to accentuate entrances, pathways etc.
