Acmena smithii 'Forest Flame'

A compact and bushy form of Acmena with glossy leaves and vibrant red new growth. Edible berries are produced followed by fluffy white flowers in Spring. However if trimmed regularly berry growth can be avoided. Like other Acmena smithii this plant is psyllid resistant.
This Lilly Pilly responds well to pruning and can easily be kept to a 1m hedge. It is useful as a solid screen when planted closely, can be grown in containers and can also work well as topiary.
'Forest Flame' prefers full sun with well drained soil and requires protection from strong or salty winds.
