Common Name: Ornamental Pear

This is a very hardy, narrow growing, deciduous tree. It is grown for its masses of white flowers in early spring then lush dark green foliage through-out spring and summer, then beautiful crimson-red autumn show before dropping in winter enabling the winter sun to give some warmth.

With it's narrow growth habit it makes a fantastic fence line or avenue tree. It is great for pleaching or as an individual feature tree. It's also commonly used in pairs to highlight entrance ways etc.

It prefers full sun and grows well in most soils. Will cope with periods of dry or wet weather and can be pruned to shape although rarely required.
