Syringa vulgaris Sweetheart

Common Name: Sweetheart Lilac
A medium-sized deciduous tree or shrub, this plant features double flowers with rose-pink buds that open to reveal soft pale pink blooms, creating an attractive combination. The sweetly scented flowers are abundant in mid-spring.
Growing to a height of 3 meters and a width of 2 meters, it has an upright, rounded shape with green, heart-shaped leaves. The double blooms are soft pale pink and offer a light fragrance.
For optimal growth, plant in full sun. Heavy pruning after flowering will help maintain a compact shape. Annual mulching and fertilizing in autumn are recommended, along with regular summer watering.
Ensure it is planted in well-drained, well-prepared soil, taking care to position the bud union approximately 5 to 10 cm below the soil level. Water thoroughly and keep the soil moist until the tree is established. Fertilize at planting and again when new growth appears, and prune for shape as needed.
