Viburnum tinus

Common Name: Laurustinus
This evergreen medium sized shrub has dark green, glossy leaves. Lime green new growth appears throughout the year but it is winter when the show really starts.
Late autumn and early winter clusters of small pink buds appear that burst into a white flower show in the depths of winter and flow into early spring.
This extremely hardy plant makes a great specimen shrub or hedge in any garden as it is the perfect 'Backdrop†plant. When the rest of the garden is dull and drab, it comes to life.
Viburnum tinus prefers full sun but will take part shade and will live almost anywhere including the coast. Can tolerate heavy pruning but preferred once after flowering.
